PitchForward
Our Mission
PitchForward builds equity through soccer by transforming underused spaces into vibrant mini soccer pitches. For every pitch funded in a well-resourced area, we install a second—free of charge—in an under-resourced neighborhood. We believe access to safe play should never depend on zip code.
Our Vision
A world where every child—regardless of background—has a safe, high-quality place to play soccer, feel joy, and build community.

Our Founder
Craig Roach brings 20+ years of experience in education, coaching, and youth development. After witnessing the impact of community mini pitches at the 2023 MLS All-Star event in Washington, D.C., Craig was inspired to act.
Fueled by his passion for equity and the beautiful game, he launched PitchForward to turn neglected courts and forgotten blacktops into safe, vibrant fields of play.
Our Board
PitchForward is led by a dedicated and diverse board with deep experience in nonprofit leadership, youth sports, education, and community organizing. Together, we’re committed to creating lasting change—one pitch at a time.

CRAIG ROACH
FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Craig Roach is the Founder and Executive Director of PitchForward, a nonprofit committed to bridging the equity gap in youth sports by installing one-for-one mini soccer pitches across communities. A former educator and lifelong soccer advocate, Craig brings deep experience in youth development, community building, and project-based leadership.
After seeing firsthand how access to play and opportunity varies drastically by zip code, Craig created PitchForward to flip the script—ensuring that every investment in a soccer pitch in a well-resourced area directly funds a second pitch in an under-resourced community. Their passion for the world’s game and for equitable impact drives PitchForward’s mission to unite neighborhoods, empower youth, and foster connection through sport.
Prior to launching PitchForward, Craig spent over 20 years as a teacher and administrator, collegiate coach, and soccer director in The Fieldhouse in Swanzey, New Hampshire.
